An after-hours event aimed at unpacking the realities of design practice is set to return to Brisbane in April 2026, offering industry professionals an interactive space for candid reflection and conversation.

Hosted by CO-architecture in collaboration with Brickworks, Designers of Brisbane 2026 will bring together local architects, designers and interior designers for an evening of unscripted discussions. Featuring an inspiring line-up of influential speakers, the event focuses on the often unseen aspects of building a practice in design, highlighting the challenges, turning points and lessons that shape professional journeys.

Rather than polished case studies with perfect outcomes, the format centres on engaging talks in which speakers share the moments that tested them, projects that took unexpected turns, and decisions they would approach differently in hindsight.

Positioned as “the work behind the work”, Designers of Brisbane explores the moments of uncertainty, adaptation and growth, offering participants lessons in design, collaboration and leadership. The evening is designed to bring the Brisbane design community together through conversation, networking and shared stories.
