Australia’s largest shipping container provider has launched a new residential product it says comes ready to be transformed into anything from a retreat or home office, to a spare bedroom.

Royal Wolf launched the ‘Outdoor Room’ at the Build and Renovating Expo in Melbourne (4-6 July).

The 20 foot modular unit comes with power, lighting and air conditioning and features timber flooring, insulation and glass sliding doors. The portable and secure container solutions are made from specially modified shipping containers and will be available to the public in late 2014 with colour-customisation available to suit any setting.

Royal Wolf says the containers are strong, weather-proof and easily transported direct to site making them suitable for a wide range of applications, from accommodation, mobile exhibitions, portable storage of dangerous goods, to retail outlets, training facilities and innovative construction projects.
