Melbourne-based property developer, GURNER, will work with Elenberg Fraser Architects and 360 landscape architects on a $600 million redevelopment of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

GURNER’s acquisition of the island site, just 50 metres from the Fortitude Valley Train Station and 800 metres to the CBD, ticks all the boxes for GURNER director Tim Gurner who considers the project as a great opportunity to deliver his style of design-focus living to Brisbane’s expanding population.

“The site represents a huge opportunity to deliver the quality design-focused living our cities need to cater for our expanding population which is increasingly demanding centrally located and design-focused places to call home.” He said

Designed by award winning architects, Elenberg Fraser, the proposed project will include multiple towers totalling over 730 apartments, a 100 apartment 4.5 star Hotel and 5,000 square metre retail precinct intended to house some of Australia’s best hospitality names and leading retailers.

Landscape architects 360, who are well known for their work at Sydney’s The Ivy, will plan a 3,000 square metre residents-only resort-style club and landscaped area.

This proposal will include a large U shaped infinity pool with in pool bar, private bars and barbeque areas, outdoor cinema, sun deck, gym, library and formal dining rooms that can be booked by residents.

Callum Fraser, director of Elenberg Fraser, is optimistic about the sites benefit to the Valley community.

“We have proposed an integrated urban resort for Fortitude Valley that celebrates the aspirational and lifestyle benefits of this great location. The master plan consists of three separate buildings, designed to respond to Brisbane’s beautiful climate, utilising indoor/outdoor living arrangements that are both affordable and highly desirable.
