Big names dominate at 2016 Sydney Design Awards

Francis Jones Morehen Thorp and Geyer dominated the 2016 Sydney Design Awards announced recently, together taking home the top prize in five of the nine constructed architecture categories.

FJMT received Gold Awards for its 580 George Street Lobby Upgrade, The Waterfront Pavilion at Darling Harbour and its multi-residential project at Barangaroo, called Anadara. Geyer was awarded for its Student Administration Services (SAS) Hub at the University of Sydney and its Heinemann Tax & Duty Free Sydney International Airport Terminal 1 project.

Other gold-receiving projects included PTW Architects’ Pacific Bondi Beach, The Bold Collective’s Airbnb by The Bold Collective, Luchetti Krelle’s Bar Brosé, and Brett Mickan Interior Design’s Clovelly House.
