The Naomi Milgrom Foundation has revealed an “OMA-inspired” program of talks, meets, music and projects for the next installation of MPavilion. In addition to the well-established MTalks, MMeets, MMusic and MKids series from previous years, this year’s program will additionally see a number of site-specific art installations erected around the Rem Koolhaas- and David Gionotten-designed MPavilion.

The program for this year draws upon the foundational themes of Netherlands-based practice OMA’s architecture. Surprise, spontaneity, innovation and experimentation will all be approached from different angles in talks and events that encompass everything from meditation to immersive explorations of the afterlife.

MPavilion’s incumbent makers, Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten, will also be present in Melbourne for a number of talks conducted in collaboration with the Naomi Milgrom Foundation. On 3 October, the formidable architecture duo will visit Melbourne School of Design for a conceptual exploration of the countryside, before joining Naomi Milgrom herself on 4 October for a panel discussion at the MPavilion site.
