The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) recently announced the winners of the 16^thannual CTBUH Awards Program, which competed for winning distinctions at the 2018 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference from May 30-31 at Aqua Tower in Chicago.

The CTBUH Awards Jury has named Oasia Hotel Downtown the “Best Tall Building Worldwide”, in addition to recognising the winners of nine individual award categories.

Among the winners was Mirvac and its now much-lauded EY Centre, which picked up the ‘Construction Award’.

According to the CTBUH, this award recognises construction excellence in a tall building project, made evident by superior quality in construction, significant technical innovations, the proficient execution of a complicated or exacting design, a triumph over difficult conditions, or the documentation of superlative speed and efficiency.

Mirvac’s National Construction director, Jason Vieusseux says that, "Mirvac is thrilled to have received global recognition for EY Centre, 200 George Street by winning the construction category at the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat Awards.”

“EY Centre is a triumph of innovative construction and demonstrates that true craftsmanship can be achieved on a high rise scale,” he says.

Simon Healy, Mirvac’s general manager of Commercial Development, says , "The EY Centre, 200 George Street bears testament to the incredible collaboration that Mirvac's integrated model brings including our in-house capability to construct complex projects, such as this.”
