Inside festival, a global festival and awards programme that celebrates the best in interior design and architecture, have released the 2014 shortlist for their global interior design awards.

Eight Australian interior designs have made the shortlist of 61 projects which have now been separated into nine categories: Bars & Restaurants, Creative-Re-use, Display, Hotels, Residential, Offices, Retail, Health & Education and Civic, Culture & Transport.

The shortlist will now face the scrutiny of a panel of international architects including David Kohn, Chris Lee, Pernilla Ohrstedt, Joyce Wang, Matteo Thun, and Mille Sylvest. The winners will be announced at the Inside festival to be held in Singapore on 1 - 3 October 2014 alongside World Architecture Festival. An overall winner will then go on to receive the World Interior of the Year title.

Over the three days, Inside will shine a spotlight on the people, projects and developments of global interiors and will be exhibiting all of the shortlisted interior design projects. Inside is the only global awards event where designers present their work live to an expert panel of judges.
