“Lighting matters more than most people realise, and in hospitality, that's especially true,” says Bosco Liang, Managing Director at BoscoLighting. “It's a bit like air – you don't see it, but you feel it the moment you walk into a space.”

According to Liang, lighting sets the mood, shapes the atmosphere, and communicates character before a single word is spoken.

“A great piece of furniture gets noticed. Good lighting doesn't. It just quietly does its job, making everything else look better,” Liang explains.

Asked for examples, Liang explains that BoscoLighting’s current focus for hospitality applications sits across three core product families.

The company’s Linear LED Extrusions (recessed, surface, suspended and trimless) are suitable for a broad range of applications, including everything from (circular or linear) pendant formations in hotel lobbies to surface-mounted corridor runs and fully recessed ceiling integration.

“It integrates directly into the ceiling or wall plane with no visible frame or lip, so the light becomes part of the architecture rather than something added to it,” says Liang.

Meanwhile, the company’s downlight range is another reliable option. Available in recessed or surface-mounted configurations, the range is suitable for most applications in hospitality projects. Atmosphere, glare control & flexibility

According to Gerard Woods, Managing Director at Switch Lighting, poor lighting choices can make even a well-designed interior feel uncomfortable or flat.

“Architects and designers therefore need lighting solutions that not only look good aesthetically but also perform well in terms of glare control, colour consistency, flexibility and longevity,” says Woods.

Decorative wall lighting

Thanks to its capacity to introduce softness, warmth and visual layering without overwhelming interiors, decorative wall lighting is another sound choice for guest suites, bedside applications, intimate dining spaces, lounge areas, feature corridors, and so on.
