Sydney-based Morris Bray Martin Ollmann architects have revealed their new name and a change in direction for the firm, which includes new directors and larger projects.

Formerly Morris Bray Martin Ollmann Architects (now just MBMO), will be led by directors Cameron Martin and Sven Ollmann, who acquired full leadership from the now departed Terry Morris and Garry Bray.

Martin (Below left) has a history with Morris Bray and is currently project director of the Sydney Adventist Hospital and Wollongong Hospital redevelopments by MBMO. He is also the commissioned architect for the redevelopment of Armidale Hospital.

Ollmann (below right) has relocated from London where he was a partner at Foster + Partners. He came to Australia as project director for the Deutsche Bank Place project at 126 Philip St, Sydney and will now settle as director of MBMO.

The firm also announced the promotion of Michael Smith to associate, who has been with the practice since 2011, and the welcoming of David Cook as Senior Architect.

MBMO says their practice is also enjoying a growth in the number and scale of projects which includes the Sydney Adventist Hospital project (Bottom) and its associated commercial and residential projects —“worth over $400 million.”

The firm says they are looking forward to the future with opportunities for the next generation of leaders following the departure of Morris and Bray.

“We have distilled our culture and direction for the next phase of growth, offering intelligent design within a pragmatic commercial context,” says Ollmann.
