The Best of the Best category at the Sustainability Awards is fairly straightforward. There’s no need to submit, there’s no shortlisted entries or nominations and it is partnered by our official Event Partner, Autex Acoustics. The only thing that is difficult is winning the category.

The winners of each respective category at the Sustainability Awards are automatically eligible for the Best of the Best award. All judging for the awards, handled by our esteemed Jury (soon to be announced), is done via a points system. The project, person or product that compiles the most points is declared the winner, and joins a prestigious list of former winners that have left a longstanding legacy in the built environment industry.

ECOPact by Holcim

The Best of the Best award isn’t limited to projects from certain categories. Holcim’s ECOPact (pictured above) is the reigning champion. Burwood Brickworks (pictured top), a shopping centre in Victoria took out the category before that. In 2019, the City of Hope Eco Housing (pictured below) development by Schimminger Architects was crowned the winner of both Best of the Best and the former Landscape & Biophilia category. Whether it be a Green Building Material, Commercial Architecture (Large) winner or otherwise, the project that the Jury believes will shape and influence the built environment is often the winner.

Autex Acoustics is the official category partner of Best of the Best as well as our official event partner for the Sustainability Awards. Since its inception, Autex has looked to create healthy, safe products and to reduce waste wherever possible. With best in class acoustic products, the company is a suitable partner for the Best of the Best category.
