A Zip HydroTap sits at the centre of a kitchen design at the Applecross residence in Balcatta Perth, featuring a monochromatic colour scheme to make a strong visual impact.

Designed by Tamlin Prince of Prince Design, based on a brief from the clients who sought a daring and bold design, the kitchen has a great layout and fulfils its role as the epicentre of this family home.

At the heart of this stunning space is the Zip HydroTap Celsius All-In- One Arc in Matte Black finish. This All-In-One system provides the family with access to instant filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water for entertaining as well as hot and ambient water for cooking and washing.

The Zip HydroTap Celsius All-In-One also enabled the front-of-kitchen to be kept sleek and streamlined with just a single tap needed for the large island bench.

The family of four has two older children so space in this busy kitchen will always be at a premium. Designer Prince has addressed traffic flow and practical placement of different zones in the layout to ensure a functional kitchen with sufficient storage. The scullery serves as an excellent area for prepping and cooking, helping keep the clutter and mess contained and out-of-view in the open plan kitchen.

The front of the kitchen features a seamless look giving it a modern context and timeless appeal. Dark timber, natural stone and crisp white cabinetry in the main kitchen enhance the modern, sophisticated ambiance.

The island bench stands out as the main visual feature of the kitchen with each end returned to the floor and matched at the rear with the splashback and hob benchtop.

With the kitchen located within a large, open plan space along with the living and dining areas, complete with stunning 4-metre ceilings, the kitchen display needed to have a bold sense of character to become the focal point.

The monochromatic colour palette introduces a striking impact in the kitchen without being overwhelming.

Its orientation has also been carefully considered to ensure the open plan space worked cohesively. The face of the kitchen is turned towards the entertainment areas of the home, while the work space of the kitchen resides behind a sliding door, which can be closed off when needed. The island is counter-balanced with a larger block at one end anchoring the kitchen to one side of the large space, and a more refined, thinner end at the other, leading into the relaxed family lounge.
