UniCote Coastal steel was specified for roofing and cladding applications during the rebuilding of a house that was destroyed in the 2015 bushfires that swept through the Wye River region in Victoria.

It was at this time that architect Andrew Simpson received a call from a client he’d just completed a house for in inner Melbourne.

The client wanted Simpson to now turn his attention to imagining a replacement for their cherished coastal getaway, which apart from the concrete driveway, had been reduced to ashes.

Wye House

Starting with a clean slate, the architect – being conscious of the property’s proximity to the sea – realised that UniCote Coastal steel was the sensible choice to not only provide unmatched aesthetics but also ensure protection from corrosive environments and bushfires.
