Ultraflex Panelling supplied slotted hoop pine veneer and MDF for the interior works at the Tyree Building UNSW to be used on the balustrades, common areas as well as the lecture theatres.

Ultraflex Panelling’s slotted hoop pine veneer panels with acoustic backing and low VOC non-yellowing clear polyurethane finish were used in a balustrade application to cover the slabs between floors in a void. All the panels had a mitred return and polished finish.

About 650 square metres of the material were used in this application.

The slotted hoop pine veneer was again used in the lecture theatres in the form of free hanging panels transitioning from a wall panel to a series of tapered ceiling panels, providing much needed acoustics required in the university lecture theatre.

About 450 square metres of the material were used in this application.

Ultraflex Panelling was additionally engaged to manufacture the MDF backing grid to take all of the linear beams in the common areas and ensure they remained straight. This allowed the client to achieve visible access to the ceiling cavity.

About 900 square metres of the material were used in this application.
