Supacoustic PLK panel lining kits from Supawood Architectural Lining Systems were used in the upgrade of the 280-seat UNSW auditorium at Liverpool Hospital NSW.

A key challenge for the architects was in finding a product to match the existing panel layout. The panel system also needed to be aesthetically attractive to enhance the interior as well as acoustically efficient to improve the noise reverberation.

Supawood Architectural Lining Systems was called in to resolve the design problems and recommend the appropriate product to address the design needs.

Supacoustic PLK panel lining kits were recommended as a solution for the re-fit, meeting the decorative as well as acoustic requirements of the auditorium.

The design team chose attractive, durable and low maintenance Supafinish concept veneer in Tasmanian Oak with a wide slot configuration. The panels were creatively stepped up the side walls to follow the stepped seating by effectively using different panel lengths on the bottom row. Polyester insulation was chosen for enhanced effective acoustics.

Specifying and installing Supacoustic PLK panel lining kits can be easily managed as they are supplied as pre-finished acoustic panel systems for direct fixing. The panel system also comes in standard sizes with screws and joint backing strips included, simplifying the whole installation process.
