Opened in 2023, St Francis Catholic College’s Cobblebank Campus offers new science, design and technology education and collaborative learning spaces for the next generation of students.

For architect Baldasso Cortese and builder H. Troon, it was important that the design reflected and extended the foundation established at the college’s Melton Campus.

Supawood worked closely with the stakeholders to achieve both a unique and integrated design, while ensuring compliance needs were met.

Tracing the Tau Cross symbol within the surrounding wall panels, SUPAWOOD’s SUPASLAT panels were customised with alternating profile depths and finishes. Designing the Tau Cross symbol in relief with custom shaping ensured the design integrated seamlessly with the timber wall lining, while also elevating the unique design within the space, leaving a personalised effect.

SUPAWOOD’s SUPASLAT product was utilised across both the ceiling and walls in SUPAFINISH. Its pairing with SUPACOUSTIC panels on the stairway ceilings in matching finishes achieved uniformity throughout the learning spaces. All panels were supplied as Fire Group 1 certified, meeting both the unique design and compliance needs within the space.

Coupled with services integration including services boxes for lighting, custom-shaping, and SUPAWOOD’s full-layout drawings service, the project achieved both the design intent and ensured a smooth installation on site.
