Sunbrella launched a new collection of performance fabrics for commercial spaces at the Hospitality Design Expo in Las Vegas last month.

The new Sunbrella Contract Transcend Collection crosses the traditional boundaries of design, and expands access to exceptionally crafted fabrics primarily for hospitality environments. The new fabric collection is recommended for a broad range of commercial settings including corporate, education, facility interiors and outdoors.

Transcend, which sees quality craftsmanship blended with an extensive colour palette and a soft hand created by spun fill yarns, will be part of a new performance textiles collection from Fabricut Contract called Sunbrella Contract Performance.

Allen Hawks, contract market manager for Sunbrella, explains that each pattern and colourway is versatile to create a unique and bespoke design element that can also withstand the harshest commercial environments.

Transcend is a contemporary collection of performance fabrics, featuring 62 styles in a range of colour-saturated patterns and textures. Constructed from 100 percent Sunbrella solution-dyed fibres, the fabrics are engineered to remain vibrant in any application, year after year. The collection showcases eight patterns with each option complementing any space with unparalleled style and performance.

Patterns in Sunbrella Contract Transcend Collection

Vitric showcases an asymmetrical plaid that weaves itself into a translucent abstract pattern reminiscent of glass.

Overdraw has a graffiti-inspired pattern, scribbling in bright hues on top of a wool-like ground with a heathered effect.

Prismatic is a clean, multi-coloured stripe reflecting a prism of bright colours; the bold stripe works well as a coordinate or as the main element of focus in a room.

Achiever is a top-stitched effect of bright colours woven into a heathered ground creating an accent stripe or allover pattern.

Triumph features a plain weave using a heathered yarn on bright acrylic warp; the pattern achieves a heathered colour saturation that coordinates back to the bright highlights of the collection.

Platform is a plush chenille featuring a gorgeous texture that mimics velvet; the pattern softens and brightens a space with a comforting tactile experience.

Pashmina, a beautifully-textured plain, is woven to evoke the look of wool yet features an incredibly soft hand.

Rally has a textural, basket-weave, intended as a base for the bright colours and sophisticated neutrals in the collection.

The Sunbrella Contract Transcend Collection offers exceptional mould and mildew resistance, allows easy cleaning with bleach, or soap and water; meets the ACT Voluntary Abrasion Guideline for use in high traffic public spaces; and carries a minimum 65,000 double rub Wyzenbeek abrasion rating with more than half of the patterns obtaining 100,000.

Similar to all Sunbrella fabrics, the Transcend collection is also engineered to retain vibrant colour, regardless of the source of exposure.
