Space Furniture announces the launch of the latest B&B Italia
collection at Space showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Launched at the 2014 Milan Fair, the latest B&B Italia collection refreshes
previous collections and introduces new designer collaborations. The new
collection includes sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and chairs.
Husk sofa
Designed by Patricia Urquiola as part of her iconic Husk collection consisting
of armchairs, dining chairs, side tables and beds, the sofa is composed of a
series of structural cushions, not only in the seat but also in the back and
armrests.
Tabano armchair
Continuing on her theme of softness with the Tabano armchair, Urquiola
explains that the name, Spanish for ‘horsefly’, describes the armchair design,
which references the eyes of a fly, including its generous volume and ample
headrest. The swivel chair has a structured outside that joins the softer
inside with a zip running along the entire outline of the chair and creating a
contrasting texture. The Tabano also has a voluminous egg shaped footrest in
matching upholstery.
Metropolitan' 14 armchair
Jeffrey Bernett revisits his 2003 classic armchair more than a decade
later with Metropolitan '14. The volumes of the chair have become thinner, the
surfaces enhanced to a flowing design, tailored seams highlight crucial areas
and the seat cushion is now fully integrated. The armchair is available in low
back and high back options.
Tobi-Ishi coffee table
The latest addition to the highly successful Tobi-Ishi table collection,
the Tobi-Ishi coffee table by design team Barber-Osgerby features a rectangular
shape referencing the second interpretation of the Tobi-Ishi dining table,
released at the 2013 Salone del Mobile. The low table is available in four
different oak wood finishes.
Button coffee table
Barber-Osgerby's multipurpose Button tables serve as the perfect
standalone side table or can be used in a cluster as an impromptu coffee table.
The collection is comprised of two oval variants and a third round shape, all featuring
a marble top and raised edge to create a tray-like detail.
luta '14 chair
Released in 2012, Antonio Citterio's luta chair became one of the
fastest bestsellers in the contract sector. Two years later, luta '14 now fills
the gap for the home market. Retaining the same strong structure and lines of
its predecessor, the luta '14 is now available with a wooden support base in four
different shades, and the chair in two monochromatic versions.
The B&B Italia collection is now exclusively
available from Space Furniture's Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane showrooms and
through the online store.
