Discover the porcelain difference
The wait is over. Porcelain surfaces, eagerly anticipated by many of Smartstone’s architecture and interior design clientele, have now arrived in Australia. Smartstone has formed an exclusive partnership with Italy’s Atlas Plan, which has been at the forefront of the recent European porcelain surface trend, particularly for its sophisticated replications of marble and natural stone-look surfaces. This Australian porcelain collection beautifully enhances Smartstone’s unrivalled quartz surface offering.
For those not familiar with porcelain as a surface material, it is a ceramic product which, through a highly technological process, fuses raw materials using intense temperatures and extreme pressure. The result is a permanently hardened, ultra-compact surface that is non-porous, NSF-approved and heat, chemical and stain resistant. Porcelain is composed of a blend of approximately 30% clay, 15% quartz and 45% feldspar, with no glues or resins used.
