Platform Lift Company installed their wheelchair stair lifts at the Parramatta Stadium to enable disabled and limited mobility access.

Platform Lift Company in conjunction with Kane Constructions was enlisted to assist with the Parramatta (Pirtek) Stadium upgrade project. The upgrade included creating disabled and limited mobility access from the Cumberland Stand as well as the Bob O’Reilly Stand to the function area at the stadium.

Platform Lift Company supplied their Cama C7 Straight Run wheelchair stair lift for the project. Advantages such as the flexibility to be wall or floor mounted, quick installation time and safety measures made the Cama C7 the right choice for this application.

The Cama C7 wheelchair stair lifts incorporate several safety features including a moveable safety edge on all extreme edges of the platform, which immediately stops the lift when touched. The platform and arms neatly fold away on a smooth operating rail when not in use, leaving the maximum width of the stairway for regular pedestrians.

A PLC spokesperson observed that a vertical passenger lift was not a functional or a viable option due to limited space and access. However, the new wheelchair stair lift provided a compliant, efficient and safe limited mobility access solution without interfering or disrupting pedestrian access.

Platform Lift Company specialises in supplying, installing and maintaining disabled access lifts. Clients can choose from a range of DDA and BCA Compliant disabled access lifts that are suitable for residential and commercial projects and designed for internal or external usage.
