Over the years, a number of architects, builders and suppliers received awards for projects that feature Paarhammer windows and doors. From new builds to renovations and additions, residential as well as commercial, see some examples here:

Beach Retreat

Beach Retreat

Winner of 2023 MBA Regional Building Awards, category Additions and Alterations, with the builder Davis Builders, also being awarded Young Builder of the Year and Residential Builder of the Year by Master Builders Association Regional Awards.

This project is set on a steep slope at the edge of bushland with stunning views of the sea; the renovation and addition came with a fair share of challenges, one of them being in a high bushfire zone.

Dream Home Booti

Dream Home Booti

This project was a finalist in the 2023 Design Awards and has also been chosen to be part of the 'People's Choice Awards' of the Australian Glass and Windows Association AGWA.

Architect Michaela Moore of Moore Design and builder Bob Gaden from RD & MR Gaden Builders worked closely with the owners to achieve their dream home. Bushfire shutters did not fit into the design, and this is where Paarhammer windows and doors came in. A big positive surprise for the owners was that these windows and doors are also very energy efficient and provide for comfortable living without much temperature fluctuations between day and night or hot and cold. Not only are they double glazed, but they also seal extremely well and stop draughts.

Seagrass House

Awards include the 2022 Australian Institute of Architects, NSW Chapter Award for Residential Houses – New, and 2022 Horbury Hunt Residential Award High Commendation.

Built on a rocky outcrop, this home is characterised by the rich ochre stone escarpment, whose colours and texture are reflected in the brickwork. A series of large corner windows provides the feeling of being on the edge of nature, suspended in trees and overlooking the beach. Welsh + Major Architects, photography by Clinton Weaver. Mangerton

Mangerton

This project is the winner in the residential over 80k category in the NSW 2023 Design Awards of the Australian Glass and Windows Association AGWA for our glass supplier AGG, as well as Master Builders' Association NSW Southern Region: best home in the $1.5 million to $2 million category 2022. The home's builder, Icon Projects, was also named Residential Builder of the Year.

With heritage-listed indigenous turpentine trees onsite and bushland below, their new home's design and specifications also needed to comply with rigorous fire zone construction regulations. The four-bedroom home has realised its owners' desires for a highly energy-efficient and secure home that is easy to live in and maintain, with space for family visits.

Bangalley

Bangalley

Awarded Brick in Architecture Awards USA 'Best International Winner' for Casey Brown Architects.

This home was inspired by its location and responds to its dramatic environment, and is designed by Casey Brown Architects to last 100 years. It consists of staggered and linked pavilions with cantilever terrasses and balconies over 3 levels. A vaulted passage to a double height space revealing its cliff-top aspect with magnificent ocean and beach views.

Jewell Box Heritage

Jewell Box Heritage

This project was a finalist in the AGWA Residential Windows Design Award - Victoria 2022 for Paarhammer.

City of Melbourne’s heritage overlay – and the owner’s commitment of restoring the outside of this Edwardian bungalow – required special considerations with renovation and extension. Redesigned using Passive House principles, this building is now spacious and unfolds as one walks through, providing space for the family while returning the exterior to its original with its Arts & Crafts detailing.

MBA & HIA Award House

MBA & HIA Award House

Winner of MBA Regional Builder, South-West Area, Multi Unit Development, and HIA Western Victoria Regional Townhouse Villa Development.

It looks like one house but consists actually of two independent units for two sisters and their husbands. The brief included high energy-efficiency, home offices with separate entrances for both units, and flexibility for easy living and eventual retirement. This house is a dream-come-true for the owners and features Paarhammer triple-glazed windows and doors.

MultiFunction

Design Matters National Building Design Awards – Winner – Commercial – under $2M, designed, built and interior design by Insite Design.

The building includes a new expansive double height glazed facade overlooking a garden. The highest level of thermal efficiency was achieved with double glazing in hardwood frames that provide structural strength, while the aluminium external cladding is weather resistant and low maintenance. Site related challenges also included the narrow laneway location.

National Australian Timber Design Award; Hotel of the Year at World Architecture News Awards; Colin Philip Award for Commercial Architecture, RAIA Tasmanian Chapter Awards; 2010 Best Use of Windows and Doors in Commercial Buildings – Australian Windows Association AWA – Design Awards; and several more.

This luxury resort is an iconic development for the Australian Tourism Industry set against the stunning backdrop of Wineglass Bay. Client’s needs were for high energy efficiency and acoustic benefits, especially between individual units and for all treatment/spa rooms. Windows and doors had to have a premium feel and a high level of proven sustainability.

Paarhammer is proud to have been part of these and other award-winning projects. Could yours be next?
