The WetnWild H2Oasis is the newest ocean-themed attraction at the popular Gold Coast theme park. Spread across an area of 870sqm, the family-friendly splash zone creates an immersive water play experience with fountains and movable water cannons among others. Protecting fun-seekers from the harsh Queensland sun is a series of unique PVC shade structures, built to blend in with the splash zone’s Ocean Wonderland theme.

WetnWild’s new state-of-the-art Slide and Splash Precinct includes Australia’s highest slide tower with three mega waterslides and the new H2Oasis Splash Pad, an aquatic play zone for all ages and abilities.

The client requested an array of seating and shade options surrounding the Slide and Splash Precinct, covering picnic facilities, queuing areas and the splash zone to protect park visitors from the sun.

The brief called for some unique shade canopies that were themed to enhance the H2Oasis design and transform the space.

Keeping park visitors safe from the Queensland sunshine are four bespoke shade structures by MakMax Australia.

The H2Oasis is the perfect summer hangout for all ages with plenty of seating and shade areas surrounding the precinct, keeping park visitors comfortable under the shade structures.

The Village Roadshow Theme Parks and WetnWild Gold Coast opened the new H20asis precinct including the slide complex comprising of Super Ripper, Double Barrel and KaBoom to the public in December 2021.

Happy with the final outcome, the client said, “This opening, throughout preceding weeks of adverse conditions, could not have been achieved by Badge Constructions without the dedicated support, drive, commitment and application from the fantastic team of designers, contractors and suppliers on this project.”

The project won a Special Commendation at the STA Australian Textile Fabrication Industry Awards 2022; Tension Structures – 250sqm to 2000sqm.
