Interseat Stadium Seating Systems supplied a modern retractable seating system to the $31.5-million state-of-the-art Henbury School located in the Northern Territory.

Designed and constructed by Local Territory contractor Halikos Group, the new Henbury School project was officially opened by Minister Eva Lawler and helped create 420 local jobs. Interseat partnered with Halikos Group on the retractable seating installation.

Built to facilitate growing enrolments for students with special needs in Darwin, the school delivers specialised education to 120 middle and senior year students with high support needs, engaging them in pathway training programs such as horticulture and hospitality to prepare them for life after school.

Equipped with excellent facilities, the new school features an air-conditioned hall with electronic roll-out retractable seating and ample space for activities, sports and performing arts, allowing the local community to use the premises for extra-curricular activities outside of school hours.

Henbury School also boasts a spacious therapy pool, a 100-kilowatt solar array system and an extensive outdoor learning space, with water features for students to cool off during the wet season.
