INNOWOOD is sustainable timber alternative and 100% recyclable, low VOC emissions, energy efficient, ecofriendly composite timber material.

INNOWOOD looks and feels like real timber without its inherent shortcomings such as timber’s tendency to crack, warp, split or rot over time when used in outdoor. INNOWOOD is also low maintenance, lightweight, and resistant to termites, water and fire. INNOWOOD is also self-extinguishing if subjected to fire.

INNOWOOD is resistant to fire, water and termites. It also discourages the growth of mould and mildew.

INNOWOOD is non toxic, splinter-proof, making it ideal for children and bare feet!

Metal roofing can add to the heat load of the cladding due to UV rays reflecting off the surface which may adversely affect the Innowood product under normal installation conditions. Therefore additional supports or shorter spans is required to counter this. Please contact INNOWOOD to obtain the additional design consideration requirement for project specific.

While the initial cost to build a pine or hardwood deck may be lower, the value of an INNOWOOD deck truly comes into its own over the longer term, easy to install and low maintenance and significant cost and time savings.

INNOWOOD board is unaffected by moisture but consideration should be given to ambient temperature and direct sunlight when initially laying boards as the deck will stabilise in its new environment. INNOWOOD Board will not shrink across the board’s width but, as in the case with timber tongue and groove boards, some seasoning of the INNOWOOD board prior to the installation will minimise possible movement in the board’s length caused by variations in individual board temperature.

Because INNOWOOD board is made predominantly from timber hardwood waste, colour will vary slightly according to the hardwood species used in its manufacture. It is therefore recommended that all the boards be sourced from the same production batch if possible.

INNOWOOD board is like natural timber, fading over time when used in outdoor application. When InnoCoat is applied to INNOWOOD products that are kept outdoors, the coating has a life expectancy of 3-5 years (except InnoDeck 1-3 years) in INNOVATIVE Range and a life expectancy of 5-7 years (except InnoDeck 3-5 years) in PREMIUM Range. How long your coating will last can be various and depend on the following factors: wear and tear, amount of sunlight, precipitation and debris and foot traffic. *Additional coating can be applied to prolong INNOWOOD products colour life, please contact INNOWOOD for further details.

To maintain the finish and extend the life of your INNOWOOD boards, regular simple maintenance is recommended. To protect the colour of your boards an INNOWOOD sealer should be applied following installation. A regular simple cleaning routine is important to keep your INNOWOOD boards looking their best. Simple remove surface dirt by sweeping or washing down the boards with water.

To apply a maintenance coat to a surface that is in good condition, simply clean the surface with Methylated Spirits and apply one coat of INNOWOOD sealer. The first indication of the need for recoating will be observed as a patchiness or discoloration on edges and on areas where insufficient sealer had been applied initially.

INNOWOOD boards should be handled with care when loading and unloading (do no drop on the ground), stored undercover on a flat surface and supported at 450mm centres until ready to be installed.

INNOWOOD Composite Timber under AS1530.3 is self extinguishing with zero spread of flame or no support for further combustion. Further to the above, INNOWOOD boards have been tested and achieve up to a Group 1 rating (ASNZS 3837 – Specification A2.4 of BCA) or up to BAL- 29 Rating (AS3959:2009 – Construction of Building in Bushfire Prone Areas, Appendix F). Upon request based on specific project requirements, INNOWOOD Boards can achieve these ratings with the option of high performance formulas that have been modified from the standard formulation, whilst still maintaining the natural look and feel of real timber.

INNOWOOD products are environmentally friendly and durable. As a result: For a period of 15 years from date of purchase, INNOWOOD warrants that the Products are resistant to cracking, splitting, rotting, flaking, splinters or peeling, water and moisture and to termites.
