GH Commercial donated a selection of hardwearing, Australian made, repurposed carpet tiles to a nearby YMCA in Geelong, Victoria, refreshing the facility’s foyer, corridors and offices.

The YMCA is a global organisation that works locally to develop stronger communities through leadership opportunities, partnering other community, private and government organisations to address social change in over 120 countries worldwide.

The Geelong branch is a charitable, not for profit that offers programs and services to create a healthier, happier, and more connected community. Established in Geelong in 1953, YMCA Geelong has three key facilities: Newtown Stadium (Gymnastics and Court Sports) North Geelong and YMCA Camp Wyuna at Queenscliff as well as Bannockburn Recreation Centre & Bannockburn Community Sports Stadium, which it manages in partnership with the Golden Plains Shire.

As part of their Believe in Better philosophy, GH Commercial actively seeks environmentally responsible ways to recycle their carpet tiles. The GH Commercial Loop program collects and repurposes previously used carpet tiles to give them a second life while ensuring they don’t end up in landfill.

“We are delighted to contribute to the Newtown facility whose mission is to improve the health of the local community. This reflects our own ethos at GH Commercial focusing on the improved wellbeing and health of patrons in public facilities through the manufacture and supply of healthier products,” says GH Commercial’s national commercial sales manager, Joel Williamson.

All GH Commercial carpet tiles are Declare Red List free and achieve maximum Green Star points and highest 4-star Environmental Certification Scheme rating.
