Carpet tiles from GH Commercial’s Choreography Collection helped lay the groundwork for a new ‘fun house’ created by Flying Fox for young people living with disability.

When it comes to supporting communities at GH Commercial, we strive to make a difference under our Doing Better Together philosophy. One way we do that is by donating to causes in need of functional, comfortable flooring, such as Flying Fox.

Driven by a mission to build connections between young people with disability and the community through the power of fun, Flying Fox has been providing opportunities through youth-led social interaction and support since 2014.

Connection through carpet

Flying Fox purchased a house in 2019 to meet the increasing demand for their weekend getaways. Located in the beautiful countryside of Lancefield, Victoria, the house hosts groups of Campers and their ‘Buddies’ throughout the year.

A large shed on the property has been converted into an activity centre for the Campers. GH Commercial worked with Loop Architecture to specify a carpet tile to make the space comfortable and practical for purpose.

The expansive 110m² space required a durable, high performance flooring solution made to withstand heavy traffic and resist tarnishing. We donated two carpets ideal for active kids, and designed for comfortable sitting, quiet reading and group activities.

Laying a solid foundation

Using carpets from our Choreography Collection, we combined two ranges to create beautiful transitions and defined zones across the floor.

Our Australian made Motion and Performance ranges offer a durable 4 star extra heavy duty ACCS rating, healthier Enviro Bac backing, easy-care stain resistance and protective Bioshield antimicrobial control. The tiles are not only designed for high levels of activity, but also create an energetic feel in an active space.

It’s been a joy for GH Commercial to be part of an inclusive program that provides opportunities for young people and respite for families in such a welcoming space.
