Fletcher Insulation’s Sisalation® Vapawrap™ range of vapour permeable construction fabrics represent the latest in moisture control, vapour permeable watertight membranes.
These products are constructed to reduce the risk of condensation developing on surfaces within the building envelope where they are unwanted. At the same time as allowing moisture to pass outward from the inside of the building, these modern membranes prevent the entry of dust and water from the outside environment both during and after construction.
In contrast to traditional foil faced sarking products, the high water vapour permeability of the Sisalation® Vapawrap™ range of vapour permeable membranes permit the contained escape of moisture from within a building along with limiting the ingress of liquid water and dust from the external environment.
Sisalation® Vapawrap™ Vapour Permeable Metal Roof is designed for use in residential and commercial applications in Australia’s colder climate zones with metal roof span ≤900mm unsupported, or ≤1200mm with support.
Sisalation® Vapawrap Metal Roof provides a secondary skin against liquid water, wind and dust penetration when overlapped and taped. The effective vapour permeance also protects the building frame by minimising the accumulation of interstitial condensation.
Sisalation® Vapawrap™ Residential Wall Wrap is designed for use in Australia’s colder climate zones, and where a vapour permeable membrane is required. Vapawrap™ Wall Wrap is suitable for walls and gable applications in brick veneer and behind fibre cement cladding where manufacturers require use of vapour permeable membranes. When overlapped and sealed with the recommended tape, Vapawrap™ Wall Wrap provides a secondary skin against liquid water, wind and dust penetration. It also protects the building frame by minimising the accumulation of interstitial condensation. Vapawrap™ Wall Wrap can act as a weather barrier to protect the inside of a building for up to 8 weeks while the external façade is constructed.
Sisalation® Vapawrap® Residential Wall Wrap products comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) for sarking type materials and satisfy the following requirements:
- AS/NZS 4200.1: 2017 for ‘Pliable Building Membranes’ Deemed to Satisfy Standard, recognised by
- NCC Volumes 1 and 2.
- NCC 2019 Volume 1 Non-Combustible building elements C1.9(e) (vi) Sarking-type materials that do not exceed 1mm in thickness and have a Flammability Index not greater than 5.
- NCC 2019 Volume 2 General Concession – Non-Combustible Materials 220.127.116.11 (f) Sarking-type materials that do not exceed 1mm in thickness and have a Flammability Index not greater than 5.
- Suitable for use in bushfire areas with a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Low–FZ in accordance with
- AS 3959:2018.
