Fabritecture was recognised at the 2023 STA SuperExpo with the STA Special Commendation (Internationally Fabricated Projects) for their work on the MSU John Goodman Amphitheatre project.
The client had the vision of building an outdoor performing and events venue on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, USA – one that could also serve as an outdoor classroom or a multipurpose performing and fine arts facility. The aim was to create a space that could accommodate a wide range of events such as concerts, plays, lectures, and other cultural activities.
The design of the amphitheatre needed to take into account the harsh outdoor elements such as rain, wind, and sun, as well as the need for proper sound absorption to ensure a high-quality audio experience for the performers and the audience. In order to meet these requirements, the team decided to use PVC TX30 material for the construction of the structure. PVC is known for its durability and resistance to weathering, making it an ideal choice for outdoor structures.
The design and construction process involved careful consideration of the site, including the terrain, surrounding landscape, and existing structures. The team worked closely with the client to ensure that the final product met their vision and needs. The result was a stunning outdoor venue that not only provided protection from the elements but also served as a versatile space for a variety of events and activities.
