After more than 20 years successfully designing and manufacturing gas fireplaces and establishing themselves as industry leaders across Australasia, Escea Fireplace Company proudly debuts their very first range of indoor wood fireplaces.

Having recognised the need to diversify their product offering to meet the various needs and preferences as well as the unique homes of customers, Escea now offers greater choice when it comes to selecting the right fireplace for their home.

“Diversifying into wood fireplaces is something that made a lot of sense to us, as our purpose has always been to put a better fireplace into the heart of every home – and whether that fireplace is gas or wood we believe you can and should have a quality fireplace that both functions well and brings an element of beauty to your home,” says Escea Fireplace Company founder Nigel Bamford.

What sets Escea’s range of wood fireplaces apart from others in the market is their use of Direct Vent Technology, eliminating draughts and maintaining indoor air quality.

Something Escea knows well – Direct Vent Technology is an integral part of the success of their gas fireplaces. But while it’s not new to Escea, you won’t see Direct Vent Technology in your average wood fireplace.

“As a manufacturer we’re constantly looking at products and asking, ‘how can we make them better?’ Using what we’ve learned over the last 20 years to find an innovative solution to what we identified as some of the challenges with wood fireplaces was a no brainer.”

The technology is based around airflow. While most other wood fires draw air from inside the home to fuel the fire, creating pesky draughts and poor indoor air quality – the use of Direct Vent Technology means the firebox functions independently of the room, with all the air needed to fuel the fire coming from outside the home; and the exhaust air being returned outside.

Heated air then enters the room with the help of a heat-activated smart fan, meaning you only ever get clean warm air blowing into the room.

“The reason this is so much better is that by controlling the flow of air in and out of the fireplace you get less draughts, less smoke and less wasted heat – ultimately a healthier, more efficient warmth.”

It was important to Escea that their new wood fireplace range maintained the same exquisite attention to detail responsible for the unrivalled beauty of their gas fireplace range, reinforcing their belief that a fireplace can be both beautiful, and functional.

Escea’s debut range of wood fireplaces features a pared back aesthetic that complements a large firebox for a sleek modern look, and a maximised view of the flames. The range comprises of two series, inbuilt and freestanding – with Escea’s own steel and engineered concrete plinths available to elevate the freestanding range.

“We’re really proud of the hard work, talent and passion that has gone into the development of our wood fireplaces, and we can’t wait to see them in homes across Australia.”
