Asado, a new Argentinean restaurant in Southbank, boasts a vibrant and distinct ambience conceptualised by designer Ewert Leaf.

Referencing an authentic Argentinean style, the designer used luscious green hues, natural materials and raw textures to deliver an old world feel and sense of intimacy and warmth to the restaurant. Asado’s colourful palette is highlighted even more with the use of 10mm real concrete terrazzo overlay from Covet International.

Covet’s terrazzo overlay was poured in-situ in a custom light base concrete colour with 6mm Keyneton Green Epidote aggregate. The brassy tones of the aggregate match perfectly with the brass embellishments used throughout the space to create harmony between design and material.

The seamless transition between the carpet and concrete surfaces was made possible by Covet’s unique concrete overlay, poured in-situ with a finished height of 10mm; this effect cannot be achieved by polishing a concrete slab.

The restaurant’s name is embedded in the concrete in brass, skilfully installed by Refined Floor Care.
