Caroma  Dorf, Australia’s leading bathroomware supplier is providing Australians with a complete portfolio of bathroom products for aged care, disabled applications and independent living situations to help keep seniors in their homes comfortable as well as safe.

Research indicates that an increasing number of Australians are choosing to live their retirement years in their own homes, unless their health situation requires high level care at nursing homes.

Addressing this trend for extended living in the home, Caroma Dorf has commenced the roll-out of a range of innovative aged care bathroom products designed to make life easier regardless of age, illness or disability, while offering superior functionality without compromising on style.

Caroma Dorf’s comprehensive Care product range has been extended to include toilets, basins, tapware, showers, grab rails and even kitchen sinks that are suitable to install in the home to assist access and mobility.

Many aged care bathroom products can be installed to comply with Australian Standard AS1428.1 Design for Access and Mobility, and all have been designed to help increase the independence, safety and comfort of users and their carers.

Commenting on the Care range and market, Mr. Tony Rusten, Group Marketing Manager of parent company GWA said, “As the Australian population ages, Care is fast becoming a major growth segment in the Australian market. Population ageing is expected to lead a significant demand for aged care products in Australia over the next 40 years, with fewer workers available to help support an increasing number of seniors.”

By understanding the needs associated with aged care applications, Caroma has developed a range of Easy Height toilet suites that feature an elevated pan height up to 50mm higher than a standard pan, assisting those with restricted movement to get on and off the toilet. These toilets also feature raised flush buttons for easier activation.

All Caroma Care taps and mixers have been designed for easy functionality and feature a ceramic disc cartridge to provide low maintenance, drip-free operation.

Aged care bathroom products also include Care mixers that feature an extended lever for easy reach while the Care tapware range uses lever handles to assist users with weaker hand mobility.

The Care basin range has been designed to assist users with special needs by ensuring there is adequate space below the basin for wheelchair access and easy reach to the tap mixer or lever.

The comprehensive basin range is available in semi-recessed and wall-basin options.

The rail showers in the Care range also accommodate those with disabilities by allowing greater flexibility with a removable handpiece and a built-in easy clean feature, which breaks up residue ensuring a cleaner shower head.
