Property developer Zig Inge Group chose a range of paving products to add function as well as visual appeal to the surrounds of the South Yarra home. The large expanse of paving wrapped around this impressive residence features the cool grey tones of Anston Newham.

A matching concrete sphere installed on a raised pedestal marks the entrance to the private front garden, where more concrete paving in bands leads to the front doorway. Visitors can bypass the entry into the house and make their way around the northern perimeter, next to a slimline lap pool, which brings them to an elevated outdoor dining area at the rear of the property. The alfresco dining area boasts clear views of the city in the distance.

For the raised terrace dining area, the designers chose a pedestal paving system, which involved placement of reinforced pavers on small pedestals instead of fixing them to a rigid base. Pedestal paving allows the installed pavers to be removed any time to enable easy access to services beneath the pavement. The absence of grout during paver installation ensures a cleaner and neater paved finish.
