From modest origins in a tin shed to the largest independent manufacturer of architectural windows and doors in South Australia, it’s been quite a successful ride for one of Alspec’s trusted customers, South Pacific Aluminium Windows and Doors. And now they’re turning 50!
Founded in 1973 by George Efstathiadis and based in Edwardstown, South Australia, the company has proudly featured on the cover of many SALIFE magazines and worked on countless award-winning homes.
Since their humble beginnings, the team has survived many a challenge, including tumultuous periods of high-interest rates, global recessions and, of course, the recent COVID-19 pandemic. They’ve also successfully navigated and responded to ever-changing building codes, and energy efficiency and performance requirements. Through it all, they’ve grown to become a trusted supplier with a long-standing customer base of loyal builders and owner-builders.
As the business expanded, they were fortunate enough to retain, develop and promote key talent from within the business. Incredibly, more than 50% of their staff have been with the company for more than 10 years – and some for more than 40.
Key to their ongoing success is their belief that they don't just sell windows and doors. They ask a lot of questions, assess their customers’ specific needs, and always strive to help create the perfect combination of function, comfort, and style.
