ACO Polycrete supplied its sloped KlassikDrain trench drain along with Heelsafe anti-slip grates for the removal of surface water from the platform at the Richlands Railway Station in Brisbane.

A recent addition to the new Springfield line belonging to the Queensland Rail City train network, the Richlands Railway Station, as with all railway platforms presented designers with the challenge of keeping the slab level and safe for all commuters while ensuring adequate drainage.

ACO’s sloped KlassikDrain trench drain was therefore specified for the removal of surface water from the platform area during wet weather. Heelsafe antislip grates were selected to ensure the metal surfaces would not trap women’s heels. This grate offers a high level of slip resistance providing greater assurance to commuters on wet days.

Products specified by GHD for the Richlands Railway Station project also included various ACO Drain systems, ACO Cablemate pits and ACO Access galvanised steel cover and frame systems.
