ACO Polycrete products were specified for the Ecosciences Precinct located in the heritage listed Boggo Road Gaol area, Brisbane.
Designed by Hassell, the project won the Australian Institute of Architecture (John Dalton) Building of the Year Award. The building brings together scientists to discuss themes relating to marine/ estuarine, plant and insect, bio security and terrestrial science.
ACO provided technical advisory services to the designers for determining the correct size of the KlassikDrain trench drainage system. ACO’s Heelsafe antislip stainless steel grates were also specified along with KlassikDrain K300 to ensure the necessary level of slip resistance required for the pavement areas for safety of pedestrians.
ACO products also specified for the project included Rhinocast ductile iron access covers and ACO Cablemate plastic pits with cement concrete lids.
