A trench drain system with slotted ductile iron grates from
ACO Polycrete was installed at the Barbagallo Raceway, a motorsport circuit in Wanneroo, located about 50km north of Perth.
The WA Government was required to fund a significant upgrade of the facility to ensure the continuance of the V8 Supercar Racing contract for Barbagallo Raceway. The first stage of the upgrade was the addition of a new pit facility in the centre of the circuit with a connecting bridge.
ACO’s PowerDrain S200K trench drain system equipped with heavy duty anti-shunt boltless locking grates was selected to withstand the dynamic wheel loads of vehicles exiting the garage area. Free technical support from ACO was used by designers to help size the trench drain system to ensure rainfall would not create ponding in the pit area.
