One Central Park is the centrepiece of a precinct redevelopment located on the site of a former brewery in Chippendale by joint developers Frasers Property Australia and Sekisui House Australia, Sustainability consultant WSP, Ateliers Jean Nouvel (Design Architect) and PTW Architects (Local Collaborating Architect).

One Central Park’s East tower is 33 storeys and West tower is 16 storeys. Collectively the towers deliver 623 residential apartments, a five level retail and recreation podium, and basement car-parking.

One Central Park achieved 5-Star Green Star Design ratings under both the Multi Unit Residential v1 and Retail Centre v1 Green Building Council of Australia assessment systems.

Key Initiatives:

  • Water Recycling: the Recycled Water Treatment Plant has been designed to deliver 100% of the non-potable water needs for the entire Central Park precinct. As defined by the Australian Guide for Water Recycling the plant will produce only grade ‘A’ water quality to the site
  • Green Building Council of Australia Green Star ratings: incorporating both the Central Thermal Plant and Recycled Water Treatment Plant, One Central Park has achieved a 5 Star Green Star Design rating under both the Multi Unit Residential Design v1 and Retail Centre Design v1 Green Building Council of Australia assessment system, and is on track to achieve the equivalent As-Built ratings

Central Thermal and Electrical Plant: The Central Thermal Plant houses the tri-generation system and the thermal plant for the purposes of:

  • Electricity supply to the thermal plant
  • Provide cooling and heating energy to the mechanical air conditioning systems serving the buildings across the site through the chilled and hot water distribution systems
  • Provide hot water to the buildings across the site for domestic hot water needs
  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the precinct operation
  • Meeting energy efficiency objectives for the precinct

Improved Amenity:

  • Open slots in the façade to achieve a high proportion of apartment cross ventilation
  • Open slots in the facade extend through to the common corridor spaces for natural light
  • Maximising natural light with performance glazing to the apartments and retail spaces
  • Apartments fitted with white goods selection and smart meter technology for energy and water efficiency
  • Climbing planting strategies to the façade to give seasonal external shading to apartments
  • Extensive planting through the facades of the apartments and retail spaces for improved amenity
