STORMTECH Pty Ltd has specialised in narrow shallow drains since 1989. Initially, architectural design requirements for a hobless level entry shower prompted the initial marketing and certification of the slimline grates for use as a shower drain, creating a world first.

Unlike conventional round or square grates that can look out of place in the centre of the bathroom floor, the Stormtech Slim Line can be discreetly positioned at either end of the room. This means you can slope or ‘fall’ the floor in one direction — perfect if you want to use larger ceramic or stone tiles or include features like a hobless or frameless glass shower.

The patented products can also be used in thresholds, balconies, paved areas, court yards, driveways and pools — virtually anywhere you need a high performance, high quality, contemporary-looking drainage solution.

Stormtech’s products have been used to great effect in award-winning projects. Most notably, its drains were used by Glenn Murcutt when he won the coveted Pritzker Architecture Prize 2002.

The company’s success is largely attributed to its close relationship with architects and designers using its products, providing a rich source feedback for future product development.

In 2004, Stormtech was awarded a DesignMark at the Australian Design Awards for the 38G90 Special Assembly and in 2007 Stormtech was a finalist for the Export Award in recognition of the success of innovative products in international markets.

Due to the innovation, ease of installation and design friendly aspects of the products, Stormtech has grown to be supplying the Australian and international prestige markets.

Recent projects include The Hilton Hotel in Adelaide, Waterfront City in Melbourne, The Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Hotel Abu Dhabi, The Pearl Qatar and the Sheraton Resort Denarau in Fiji.

All Stormtech Slim Line grates are made of stainless steel and are available in various size adjustable kits or custom fabricated to finished lengths and widths.

The attractive slimline grate is available in stock widths of 38 mm, 65 mm or 100 mm. The grate fits into a shallow PVC channel or stainless steel channel that is supplied as part of a ready to use installation kit.
