Nightingale Preston, designed by Breathe Architecture will be part of the broader Preston Crossing precinct, which will deliver a new residential village within the Bell Station area. This is part of the City of Darebin’s commitment to deliver vibrant, attractive, energised, and interesting mixed-tenure precincts, providing a wide range of building typologies and associated spaces.

Currently under construction, with completion set for 2023, Nightingale Preston is strategically located in the corner of Oakover Road and Railway Place West, and is designed in three parts to acknowledge three aspects of local history.

Nightingale Preston

At ground floor, carbon-neutral brickwork is a nod to Preston’s residential past. The middle of the building features a precast fluted concrete facade and saw-tooth roofline referencing Preston’s industrial past. The building is then split in two creating a ‘green spine’ in the middle for vegetation to grow and to allow fresh air to circulate through the building, representing Preston’s drive for amenity in the way of parks and open spaces.

Consisting of 52 apartments, each featuring one of our lift slide doors, Nightingale Preston is carbon-neutral in operation and achieves an average of 7.5+ stars NatHERS rating.
