Quintessentially Sydney, Café Sydney offers natural light, inviting dark timber, metalwork and floor-to-ceiling glass doors to maximise breath-taking views of the Sydney harbour.

Keeping in mind the rich heritage of the restaurant’s rooftop location in Customs House, Hassell Architects chose recycled timber flooring sourced from other demolished historical buildings in Sydney. Artist Angus McDonald’s specially commissioned paintings of the Harbour Bridge adorn the main restaurant.

In addition to the original interior, Hassell artfully integrated contemporary and classic in the Lounge. The area complements and invigorates the restaurant perfectly, offering the ultimate relaxed experience.

A textured woven flooring from the Bolon by Jean Nouvel Design collection was selected to complement the mood, with the textural linear design amplifying spatial geometry in the space.
