Limelight Illuminations  offer a wide range of LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights for lighting applications.

The world is a changing place. Governments and industry leaders around the world have
developed strategies for installing LED lighting for:

LED (light emitting diode) lights can be installed in much the same way as halogens,
because they draw little power, much smaller transformers can be used, or many more
lights installed onto one circuit.

The big advantage of these low-power requirements is their compatibility with solar cells. This makes them not only easier to install but cost-free and environmentally friendly to run.

Aviation purposes – Powering airports and airfields at one tenth of the cost of hardwired alternatives. LEDs have an extended life of up to 100,000 hours, compared with 8,000 hours for incandescent lamps.

Coast Guard purposes – Marine LED lights that are now extensively used by Coast Guard stations in USA and other parts of the world.

Traditionally, incandescent globes were used for marine applications; however, due to the requirement for their frequent replacement, (every 6 months), LED lights are far more practical and efficient.

Railways, bridge lighting, and building worksites have welcomed the innovation of LEDs for their reliability, ruggedness, shockproof, vibration-proof qualities, low maintenance and vandal resistant benefits.

Traffic lights – The traffic lights are widely used in many countries for pedestrian signs, school flashing signs, beacons and other warning systems.

Olympic Games 2010 – Beijing intends to change all their traffic lights to LEDs to reduce their power consumption and increase efficiencies in readiness for the their Olympic Games.

The government has made the effort to begin using LEDs in traffic lights as well. The new LED traffic lights contain 220 x 5mm LED globes in circular format.

Conventional traffic lights consume up to 150 Watts and the energy saving with LEDs is too significant for the government and was a necessary alternative.

LED lamps emit cool white light and run cool, so there is no danger of burning little fingers. The globes also last for many years and comes in a range of colours.
