Kingspan’s Dri-Design tapered cassettes were specified by the architects for the facade of a new shopping centre in the south Sydney suburb of Kirrawee. BN Group specified Dri-Design facade panels to achieve a feature facade that would give the shopping precinct a visual point of difference compared to other retail outlets in the area.

Completed in 2021, the $50 million shopping precinct offers more than 9,700 square metres of retail space and 250 car parks, and houses a Woolworths supermarket and online pick-up area, Dan Murphy’s, a barber, nail bar and café.

Seeking new materials that would deliver a striking exterior, BN Group selected the Dri-Design façade system for its ability to provide exceptional design freedom for exterior and interior applications. The interlocking system used to fasten the panels to the structure makes installation easy and efficient, helping achieve a stunning facade that can be completed quickly and cost-effectively.

Installed by Durnco in just a few hours, the feature facade on the shopping centre was created using Dri-Design flat and tapered cassettes in a horizontal and vertical staggered layout.

“Kingspan were very helpful from start to finish; from the shop drawing stage, right through to the delivery. Essentially all work was done through the shop drawings, so it made installation very easy! It really was a quick and efficient install, and a simple process for us, and the Dri-Design system really enhances the design for the overall project,” commented Durnco representative Christian Van Twest.
