MGS Architects has appointed Elliet Spring to the position of associate director.

With over 15 years’ experience working as an architect and urban designer in New York, Norway and Melbourne, Spring has worked on a broad range of projects around the world, from community libraries and cultural centres to large scale masterplans.

Spring also has a passion for place-specific design, and believes architects and urban designers have a fundamental responsibility to ensure each project is sustainable, both environmentally and socially.

She is interested in how we can live better together in an urban context, how climate change affects architectural programming, and how technology is challenging traditional notions of public and private spaces.

With master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York, where she received an Honour Award for Design, and a Bachelor Degree in Architecture (Honours) from Melbourne University, she has also received the Bates Smart Graduate Prize.
