Sustainability Live is a question and answer panel event that will be held on 11 October, at The Star in Sydney. It will take the form of six Q&A panels and one debate, led by experts in sustainable building and design.

The fourth panel of the day will ask the question, “How to eliminate all waste In a residential build”.

With up to 25 percent of all waste coming from the building, construction and renovation sectors, how can we eliminate waste from the building and construction process once and for all?

In 2015, some 7 million tonnes of building waste went to landfill in Australia. It is a given that sending building materials to landfill is a waste of resources that could otherwise be used in a variety of ways.

Most building sites in Australia have varying amounts of waste that they could res-use or reapply. So how can this be achieved?

In fact, everyone in the construction industry can contribute to tackling this problem by reducing waste, using materials in a better way, and collecting waste for recycling.

Hear from our expert panel the best way this can be achieved.
