A single HydroTap Celsius All-In-One from Zip Water was specified for the kitchen in an open plan residential layout to eliminate any perception of clutter in the space. Instead of having multiple taps to meet the drinking water and washing up needs of the family, a single HydroTap was specified and installed, keeping the kitchen from appearing cluttered and overly busy.

The Cosham Street residence in Brighton, VIC is an open plan home designed as per the client’s brief to provide a kitchen, living and dining space that was family-friendly and efficient. The kitchen was pushed backwards and the study/toilet removed to create a larger open plan space.

The redesign of the kitchen split the space into two sections to provide a range of functional areas. The main prep and cook zones were placed at the front of the kitchen, with a separate section behind for storage.

Featuring stunning marble tones, and cleverly-designed dual sections, this kitchen maximises its effectiveness in an open plan space. The brief also sought to elevate the visual elements of the kitchen to take it from a sterile, contemporary space to a warm, luxurious room. The marble element needed to be exactly right to create the desired ambience – the selected marble was soft, with a subtle warmth and stunning look.

The marble became the main feature around which the other elements were designed. Two delicate, floating shelves were added and the 10mm profile was specified for the kitchen cabinetry to complement the marble and accentuate the tones throughout the space. Sleek, high-end appliances delivered both functionality and visual appeal.

A Zip HydroTap Celsius All-In-One Arc in Matte Black was specified by Gia Bathrooms and Kitchens for this kitchen as its sleek design perfectly suited the look and feel sought by the designer. Since the client did not want multiple taps in the open plan kitchen, the Zip HydroTap was the best option to provide for all of the family’s drinking water needs with boiling and chilled filtered water, as well as hot and cold water for washing up.

The client is extremely satisfied with the new kitchen, especially the functionality of the space together with the natural flow between the living room, dining space and kitchen. A lovely balance has been achieved between the living and kitchen spaces, in keeping with the family’s lifestyle.
