ZC Technical supplied its interlocking cassette panels for the Gap residence project. Designed by IRP Architects, the Gap residence, completed in 2016, stands in timeless harmony with its surroundings.

The zinc panels replaced the composite aluminium material initially selected for this project. The property owner and the architect believed that zinc would be better suited to the house than applied paint on account of its naturally weathered surface and texture. Zinc would also provide more options for the custom install using ZC Technical’s cassette system.

While blue-grey Rheinzink was chosen for all soffits, the neutral VM quartz-zinc was used for the flat walling. The VM Zinc interlocking panels for the feature pop-out sections were created in a striking autumn red shade, allowing the metal’s texture to remain visible.

Happy with the quality of the products, the client commissioned ZC Technical to install all gutters, fascias, downpipes and a rainwater head in VM quartz-zinc to minimise maintenance.

The careful choice and quality install of such striking elements will ensure that the exterior ages gracefully.
