Woodform Architectural has introduced a new cladding system with sleek and modern profiles that bring out the rustic charm of timber exteriors.

The new Expression Cladding not only pays tribute to the organic appeal of the timber aesthetic but also allows architects to systematically plan for the peculiarities of timber. Featuring concealed fixing tongue-and-groove profiles, the new cladding system delivers several benefits to timber facade design.

Movement in timber is an unavoidable reality; timber expands when it absorbs moisture and shrinks when it loses this moisture. Woodform Architectural has applied evidence-based research to ensure Expression Cladding is scientifically profiled to accommodate this inevitable natural timber motion.

Based on this research, Woodform Architectural has also carefully curated a range of low-shrinkage timbers that could best handle the unpredictable outcomes of harsh environmental factors. For instance, Burnt Ash is particularly adept at nullifying the challenges of sustained UV exposure.

Expression Cladding has also introduced a new dimension of depth allowing architects and designers to add ribs, furrows and varied depths right across the cladding. Used vertically or horizontally, this new dimension of depth can be combined with different board widths, timbers and finishes to create uniquely textured signature timber facades.

Steve Napier, Business Development Manager at Woodform Architectural, will deliver a free 60-minute webinar on ‘Understanding Maintenance on Exterior Timber Cladding’ on the 20th and 21st of October, 2015.
