A leading guestroom accessory supplier, Weatherdon Hotel Supplies, is set to open a new office on the Gold Coast to better service the ever-increasing Queensland hospitality market.

From its Sydney head office, Weatherdons has always supplied hotels Australia-wide. The new office on the Gold Coast, slated to open in August, follows the opening of a Melbourne office in early 2006.

The new Queensland-based representative will be Rachel Schwab. Setting up the new office will be no difficulty for Rachel as she was the one who opened the Melbourne office last year and has been the company’s Victorian representative since.

“I am really excited by this new challenge,” Rachel said. “I am from the Gold Coast originally so it is a sort-of homecoming for me. I have really enjoyed my time in Melbourne and opening the office there for the company was a great experience. However, this is another new opportunity and I feel there are great prospects for Weatherdons in this market. Even though we have longstanding customers in

Queensland, there is no substitute for local representation.”

Replacing Rachel in Melbourne will be Mark Whyte. Mark is a new employee at Weatherdons but has been known to the company for many years. Mark has over 20 years sales experience in the office products industry and is a Melbourne local.

“I am really looking forward to this challenge of a new industry,” Mark said. “Rachel has laid the foundations in the past 18 months and I hopefully will continue to build on those.
