Interior and exterior paints from Wattyl were specified for a building conversion project in Balmain, Sydney to match the original colours.

The Colgate Palmolive buildings represent one of the most notable warehouse/factory conversions in Sydney. Built in 1923, the factory wound down production from 1970 and the heritage building was converted into residential apartments in 1997.

When a complete repainting project was undertaken in 2016 for the building’s interior and exterior, the contractor was asked to match the paint colours to the six original colours.

Wattyl’s premium quality paints were chosen for their excellent durability and serviceability, as well as suitability and performance at waterfront locations.

Wattyl products featured in the project included Wattyl I.D* for the walls and ceilings; Wattyl Aqua Trim* for doors and trims (both Green Star compliant); Solagard Masonry Matt for the exterior with GranoImpact texture; and Wattyl PolyU 400 for the balustrades.
