Newport cladding in Ironbark was specified for the facade of Queensland’s famous Beenleigh Rum Distillery to add a contemporary edge to the heritage-listed icon.
The distillery makeover project aimed to introduce the handcrafted traditions of rum-making to today’s new-age spirit drinkers by creating a stylish new visitor centre and a modern cellar door. A key objective of the restoration and refurbishment project was to put the distillery firmly back on the map.
Featuring clean lines and tongue and groove profiles, Urbanline’s Newport cladding in Ironbark has been able to provide a contemporary look to the distillery, tastefully framing the edgy, exterior box windows. The beautiful timber is finished in a burnt red colour reminiscent of the heritage distillery’s rum barrels and vats.
Pre-finished in Cutek Clear to extend the lifespan and minimise maintenance, the cladding will age gracefully thanks to the natural properties of hardwood timber.
