Euro Selekta cladding from Urbanline Architectural was specified for the walls and soffits of a new high-rise apartment project in North Melbourne.

Developed by United Asia Group (UAG), North Apartments is a sophisticated residential complex, only a short stroll from the CBD and the University of Melbourne, and offering more than 450 units across 20 storeys.

The walls and soffits of the apartments’ large balconies needed an attractive timber-look cladding to match the building’s chic design and location. In addition to visual appeal, the developer also sought a product that could stand up to Melbourne’s harsh weather, which ranges from 45°C temperatures in summer to driving wind and rain in winter.

Euro Selekta from Urbanline is a pre-finished composite cladding, which has been laboratory-tested for extreme climatic conditions, is water-resistant and pest-resistant, and requires no ongoing maintenance. The warm cedar finish of Euro Selekta provides a stunning contrast with the apartment building’s dark glass. Euro Selekta’s extreme durability will additionally preserve the elegant appearance of North Apartments for decades to come. About 2500 square metres of external cladding were installed by Kure Carpentry.
